Our Story
Family Dental Practice was established in 1994 with a vision to create a dental practice that combines advanced technology, professional expertise, and, most importantly, a caring and compassionate approach to patient care.
Our founder and principal dentist, Dr. Fiona, saw the need for a community-focused dental clinic in Brighton-Le-Sands that prioritises patient well-being and offers comprehensive dental services under one roof. Since opening our doors, we have grown into a trusted dental care provider in Brighton-Le-Sands, known for our personalised care and commitment to excellence.

About Accreditation
In addition, Accreditation is an internationally recognised evaluation process used to assess the quality of care and services provided in a range of areas including healthcare. The attainment of these standards means a dental practice has proven to be of the highest calibre in delivering quality patient care within Australia.
Accreditation assists us to:

QIP Accreditation is independent recognition that our practice meets the requirements of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, and is committed to ongoing evaluation and improvement of the policies and procedures that govern our dental practice.
Dr. Fiona Gallagher – Principal Dentist
Fiona graduated from the University of Sydney; she was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in General Practice in 1992.
She commenced her career in public service at Westmead Hospital before commencing full time service in Army Reserve in NT.
After a year in country practice, she returned to Sydney. In 1994, she established the Family Dental Practice. Fiona is committed to continuing education, constantly updating and furthering her knowledge in all aspects of General Dental Practice. She is also dedicated to educating patients.
Her exceptionally high standard and attention to details are shown throughout the whole practice. In 2017 Dr Fiona through further study and education has achieved Accreditation of the Family Dental Practice to ensure that the standards are at the highest calibre delivering the highest level of quality care available in Australia.
Lisa - Practice Manager
Lisa is the practice manager and the heart of the team, having extensive experience in both orthodontic and general dental health. Patient care is at the forefront of Lisa’s mission, ensuring the practice runs smoothly and supports both staff and patients with confidence and care. Known for her warm, welcoming nature, and soon to be a proud grandmother, Lisa creates an environment where everyone feels at ease. Her industry knowledge and commitment to high quality service makes her an invaluable member of the practice.
Jess - Dental Assistant
Jess is a dedicated member and dental assistant of the practice, with a bubbly personality. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Nursing at UTS. She thrives in the Family Dental Practice and enjoys providing direct, compassionate care to patients, also being fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. Jess loves being part of the dental team and is passionate about creating a positive experience for every patient who walks through the door.
Sophie - Dental Assistant & Receptionist
Sophie is a dental assistant and receptionist who managers our social media. She brings enthusiasm and an outgoing approach to every part of the practice. She is currently studying Law and Business at UTS and thrives in the dynamic environment of the Family Dental Practice. Outside of work, Sophie enjoys playing the double bass with the Sydney Youth Orchestra.
